White beans cooked from scratch in a sweet molasses and tomato sauce with plenty of bacon. You will love these homemade baked beans!

How to make Boston Baked Beans?

Gather all ingredients. Soak beans for 8 hours.

Drain the beans. Cover them with fresh cold water.

Bring the beans to a boil. Simmer until tender. Remove the beans from the liquid.

Preheat the oven. Place cooked beans, onion, and bacon is a casserole baking dish.

Combine the molasses, brown sugar, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar.

Pour this molasses sauce mixture evenly over the beans in the dish.

Pour over 2 cups of the reserved bean cooking water.

Place the lid on the beans. Bake. Stir and add more liquid if beans seem dry.
